Aurelian Paladin's Greatsword

The Aurelian Paladin’s Greatsword is the enchanted greatsword carried by the Aurelian Paladin killed by the party in the s10 alley fight in Umbrafall. Confirmed enchanted by The Broker; deals slashing plus a radiant damage rider (s10 Items & Loot). The radiant rider notably bypassed Mharos’s necrotic resistance during the s10 fight, with each Paladin hit on Vasquez applying 4 radiant on top of the slashing — burning the demon within ^[2]. Vasquez retained the sword post-fight specifically as raw material for a future crafting project — a “better gunblade” or comparable upgrade — rather than wielding it directly. As of session 16 it remains in his stored kit, untouched since looting.

Overview

A standard enchanted greatsword with a radiant damage rider. Looted from the Aurelian Paladin in s10. The radiant rider was the campaign’s first concrete data point on Mharos’s weakness to radiant damage — each of the Paladin’s strikes on Vasquez in the alley fight bypassed Mharos’s necrotic-damage resistance and burned the demon within ^[2]. The party catalogued the weakness for future engagements.

Why not wielded

Vasquez’s class build is keyed to longswords (the gunblade frame). A greatsword swap would mean rebuilding around a different weapon profile, and the gunblade is too central to his identity. Instead, Vasquez floated retaining the sword as crafting feedstock for a “better gunblade” or a redesigned weapon that incorporates the radiant rider. No crafting attempt has been made in transcript; the sword sits in stored kit.
