Starpoint Secrets is a potion shop in Umbrafall, visited briefly by the party in session 11 in the hope of buying healing potions. The shopfront bears a crudely drawn star with a small glimmer over its tippy top [1]; the interior smells of concentrated biogloom, with five different pots stirring magically by themselves “with different burying potions that seem to be brewing” [2]. The shopkeeper is an unnamed fairy with shaved purple hair and a pot belly, looking under the weather. Healing potions started at 50gp, doubled to 60gp after Ruin tried to pocket one and was caught [3], and the visit ended without a purchase. The shopkeeper warned the party that thieves’ hands hang from a string in his shop “as a reminder” [4].

Overview

Starpoint Secrets is a small Umbrafall potion shop, named only in session 11. The party — Caelumn, Terry, and Ruin — were directed there by Sevryn’s magic-item handout earlier in the session and visited it after their detour for cooked rats. The visit was short and disastrous.

Notable features

  • Five self-stirring pots of “burying potions” brewing on the floor [2] — biogloom-saturated, in keeping with Umbrafall’s underground-fungal ecology.
  • A string of severed hands hung from the rafters, sourced from “multiple different races”, displayed as a deterrent to thieves [4].
  • An unnamed fairy shopkeeper with shaved purple hair, a pot belly, and a chronic cold who blew his nose into his hands and wiped them on his trousers mid-conversation [5].

In session 11

Ruin attempted to lift an unlabelled red potion while Caelumn and Terry were haggling. The fairy spotted the lift, doubled prices from 50gp to 60gp per healing potion, and indicated the hands. The party left without a purchase and was advised “Thank you, please don’t come again” [6]. They subsequently went to Whisper Coil Emporium instead.
