Palathorn is a place north-east of the road to Eldwythe, named in session 12 when the orchard farmer Thomas Feld said he had once seen a dragon fly over. The DM gave the direction it took as “roughly towards Palathorn” [3]. The party has never been there, and nothing more has been said of it.

Overview

Palathorn is a place the party has only heard of. In session 12 the orchard farmer Thomas Feld said he had once seen a dragon fly over, and the DM placed the direction it took as “roughly towards Palathorn” [3]. Caelumn looked it up on the map and wrote it down [4]. The party did not pursue the lead, and what the dragon was is unresolved.

Geography and appearance

Not described. Caelumn read it off the world map as lying to the north-east of where the farmer stood, on the road to Eldwythe [5][4].

History in the campaign

Session 12: Eldwythe and the Candy Cottage

On the road to Eldwythe the party met Thomas Feld and his daughter. Learning that Caelumn came from Vhal’Zarim, the farmer asked whether it was true that they have dragons there [6], then told the party that he had once seen one: a giant shadow that blotted out the moon, its wings so strong that he was nearly blown over [7]. Asked which way it flew, he pointed north-east [5], and the DM gave the direction as “roughly towards Palathorn” [3].

Session 13: Bubba Walker and the Gummy Sarcophagus

Terry’s recap at the start of session 13 retold the meeting with the orchard farmer and his young daughter, who “casually mentioned they saw a dragon flying north east towards Palathorn” [2]. The recap only restates the sighting. Nobody at the table has followed it up since, and Palathorn has not been named again.
