Dock 13 is the Umbrafall waterfront berth used as the smuggling exit point for cargo bound for Aurelia and Duskwatch. Named twice in transcript: in s10 by Dawn Mercy Clinic orderly Drew, who under Caelumn’s intimidation confessed that the Aurelians who abducted Mira Hale were “taking the barrel” (with Mira inside) “to dock 13” [4]; and in s16 by Nick (DM) reading from Maelis Dirn’s recovered ledger — “the majority of her shipping cargo was sent through dock 13 in Ombrafall and landed in Duskwatch” [3]. Hugo knows roughly where Dock 13 sits — the docks are “relatively to the eastern side” of Umbrafall [2]. The party has never visited it.

Overview

Dock 13 is the eastern-side smuggling berth in Umbrafall used for two of the campaign’s converging logistics threads:

  1. The Aurelian abduction route. The Dawn Mercy Clinic orderly Drew named Dock 13 as the destination the Aurelians took with the barrel containing Mira Hale — “they were taking the barrel to… dock 13” [4]. The dock is the chokepoint between Mira’s last known location in Umbrafall and her presumed delivery to Aurelia.
  2. Maelis Dirn’s bio-gloom toxin export. Per the Duskwatch shipping ledger recovered from her research desk and re-read in s16, “the majority of her shipping cargo was sent through dock 13 in Ombrafall and landed in Duskwatch” [3] — establishing Dock 13 as the active outlet for Maelis’s forged-documents trade as well.

The two threads — Aurelian abductions and Maelis-Dern smuggling — share a single physical chokepoint, which is itself an unresolved suggestion that the Aurelian conspiracy and the Hollow underworld have at least an infrastructure overlap.

Geography and appearance

Hugo’s local knowledge places Dock 13 on the east side of Umbrafall. The DM frames the docks as “relatively to the eastern side” of Umbrafall and “on the west side” of Aurelia, with small rivers leading to the main river [5]. No other description is on transcript.

Status as of session 16

Unvisited but active. A pursuit of either the Mira Hale thread or the Duskwatch shipping ledger resolution will likely route through Dock 13.
