Crownspire is the palace-cathedral-fortress at the radiant heart of Aurelia — palace, cathedral, and fortress in a single structure, enclosed within its own inner walls like a sacred city within the city. It is the seat of the ruling power and home of Seraphine, the sacred sovereign and living vessel of the Pure Light’s goddess. From Crownspire the city’s law, faith, and authority radiate outward; beneath its sun-banners and shining towers the will of Aurelia is given form in ritual, judgment, and steel. Overview
Crownspire is the seat of Aurelia’s government and faith — a palace, a cathedral, and a fortress in one structure, enclosed within its own inner walls at the radiant centre of Aurelia’s concentric rings. It is the home of Seraphine, the sacred sovereign of Aurelia and living vessel of the Pure Light’s goddess. From Crownspire, the city’s law, faith, and authority radiate outward.
Geography and appearance
The spire rises at the heart of the city, surrounded by the noble estates, high courts, elite compounds, and grand institutions of church and state of Aurelia’s inner rings. Its own inner walls separate Crownspire from the rest of even the central rings — the DM’s world brief describes it as “a sacred city within the city”. Sun-banners hang from its shining towers; pale stone and gold are the dominant register, in keeping with Aurelia’s broader civic palette.
Government / control
Seraphine governs from Crownspire. Beneath her sun-banners and shining towers, the will of Aurelia is given form in ritual, judgment, and steel — the three modes of the sovereign’s sacred ordinance, expressed respectively through the Church of the Pure Light’s highest ceremonies, the inquisitorial tribunals that deal with suspected arcanists, and the household guard and elite military formations of the Aurelian forces.
Status as of session 16
Unvisited. The party is sailing south toward Aurelia’s outer approaches via the White Lantern Shrine; whether they will ever reach the inner rings, let alone Crownspire itself, is an open question.
