The unnamed Yuan-ti woman was the masked snake-cultist who shared Sunset is Nigh’s Lair with the wyrmling, kept living quarters in a side chamber, and commanded an army of small venomous snakes including one she called “Nagini”. In session 3 she flanked the party from a side passage during the cave-fight; her two-bite multiattack landed a natural-twenty critical on Cholmondeley for 9 piercing + 21 poison, killing him outright [1]. Cholmondeley’s last words, as he spat blood: “I hate you all” [2]. She is presumed dead after the lair fight - per DM ruling, her status is dead / presumed dead, with Vasquez credited in the s3 narration as ending her life by back-stab once the wyrmling fell [5]. Her name, faction, and origin are unidentified.
Overview
The unnamed Yuan-ti woman is the campaign’s first NPC to kill a player character. Masked, snake-cultist, mother of small venomous snakes (one named Nagini by her in [4], suggesting they were her children or familiars), she shared Sunset is Nigh’s Lair with the wyrmling and kept living quarters in a side chamber the party found post-fight: a card, a desk, a wardrobe, books — nothing of obvious value to a 12 Investigation.
In the cave fight, she flanked the party from a side passage [3]. Her two-bite multiattack on Cholmondeley landed a natural-twenty critical: 9 piercing + 21 poison, halved by the Gwen Homora poison-resistance potion to a still-fatal damage [1]. Cholmondeley failed his attempt to stabilise (broke his neck on the death save), spat blood, and uttered:
“I hate you all.” — Cholmondeley, dying, [2]
The yuan-ti was no longer hostile by the time combat concluded (her snakes stood down once the wyrmling fell). Her ultimate fate is not shown on transcript.
Identity
Unknown. The party did not learn her name, her faction, or her origin. The yuan-ti’s known relationship to other Eldurae factions has not been developed in transcript. Her presence in the lair may have been opportunistic (a snake-cultist drawn to a wyrmling’s nest) or institutional (a delivery from a wider network); the campaign has not yet returned to the question.
Status as of session 16
Dead / presumed dead after the lair fight (per DM ruling). The s3 recap narration credits Vasquez with a back-stab kill on her at [5] once the wyrmling fell; she has not reappeared through session 16.
