FactionTravelling merchants

Sunny is a golden-haired halfling travelling merchant who set up a stall outside Wyrmbough Grove in session 2 with two horses and a stand of player’s-handbook-sub-100gp wares plus four alchemist’s fires and one antitoxin. The party sold him three light crossbows and three scimitars in exchange for one hand crossbow and (thrown in for free) a healing potion [1]. Vasquez later bought an alchemist’s fire on a +17 Persuasion check [2]. When Cholmondeley floated leaving Nancy with him, Sunny declined: “You can’t sell a child.”

Overview

Sunny is a halfling travelling merchant with golden hair, two horses, a stand of player’s-handbook-sub-100gp wares, four alchemist’s fires, and one antitoxin. He set up outside Wyrmbough Grove in session 2 and traded with the party for the loot from the bandit camp in the corrupted grove.

He drives bargains but throws in extras for friendly clientele. He drew a moral line when Cholmondeley hinted at relinquishing Nancy:

“You can’t sell a child.” — Sunny, [4]

The line is the campaign’s earliest moment of an NPC making a quiet ethical correction.

History / role in the campaign

Session 2 — trades

Traded three light crossbows and three scimitars for one hand crossbow and a complimentary healing potion [1]. Sold Vasquez an alchemist’s fire for 15gp + a scimitar on Vasquez’s +17 Persuasion [2]. Declined Cholmondeley’s child-relinquishment proposal.

Disposition toward the party

Warm, fair-trading; would be repeat-business if encountered again.

Status as of session 16

Alive, presumed travelling. Off-screen since session 2.
