Shamil is the red-haired elven blacksmith of Wyrmbough Grove, an elf with a drippy nose whose accent changes with every word [5]. In session 3 he lent his forge overnight to Vasquez, who joined his looted pistol to his longsword there to make the gunblade [2]. He has not appeared since.

Overview

Shamil is the elven blacksmith of Wyrmbough Grove, met once, in session 3, when Vasquez asked to borrow his forge for the night [3]. He wanted to know what the forge was for, offered to help, and took no for an answer. What Vasquez made there was the gunblade, which he first used in session 4 [2][4]. Shamil has not been seen since.

Appearance and demeanour

An elf with short braided red hair, a drippy nose and red cheeks, whose accent changes every word [5]. He is easygoing with a stranger: “Um, sure, I guess. What do you need the forge for?” [6].

Relationships

  • Vasquez: lent him the forge for the night and offered help, which Vasquez declined: “I feel I still need to do this myself” [7].
  • Wyrmbough Grove: its blacksmith, found by asking around [8]; his forge is Shamil’s Forge.

Disposition towards the party

Obliging and incurious. He lent his forge to a stranger for the night with a single question and no mention of payment [9].

History in the campaign

With the dragon’s hoard looted, Vasquez asked around and learned of a blacksmith in the grove [10]. He asked to borrow the forge for the night for “something for a promise that I made”; Shamil agreed, offered help, and gave his name when Vasquez said he still had to do it himself [11]. Vasquez laid out the looted pistol, his longsword and his schematics, rolled a 4 on a d100, and followed the plans to perfection without improving them [2]. He later arrived at Fergus’s grill with the finished gunblade, its cylinder loaded with four small glowing charges [12].

Status

As of session 23. Alive as far as the record shows, and off-screen since session 3; nothing records him leaving Wyrmbough Grove.
