“Pixie Wonderbringer” is the fey instigator of the session-19 night-camp ambush — a Pixie (published Monster Manual / 5e SRD statblock) that struck the party alongside a pack of will-o’-wisps on the last watch [20]. It behaved exactly like its published kin: Magic Resistance that shrugged Caelumn’s chromatic orbs off as “not as effective as you thought” [2], innate Polymorph that turned Terry into a chicken [21], a Confusion-type effect on Father Thomas [22], and Superior Invisibility. The name “Pixie Wonderbringer” is taken from the VTT tracker / chat log (Hugo reading it off, [10]; “Wonderbringer” is a likely-stable but DM-unconfirmed tracker label, not a spoken in-fiction name. After soaking a crit and several hits (Magic Resistance making it tankier than a stock pixie), it was killed by Caelumn’s Chromatic Orb — “Melt the bitch” — and “dissolve[d] into a fine puddle” [23]. Its death triggered the wisps to “split” (DM homebrew, [24]. Status: dead.

Overview

“Pixie Wonderbringer” is the small winged fey that led the session-19 night ambush on the party’s hilltop camp, fighting alongside a pack of will-o’-wisps (the “motes of light”). It resolved out of the dark with the wisps and opened the fight by blasting Caelumn in the face with dust; Caelumn’s reactive Shield turned the hit and the DM called initiative [1]. On the tracker it is a single creature — “a small winged humanoid” — circling 10 ft from the wisps over the grassy hilltop [9].

The name (VTT tracker; DM-unconfirmed)

The label “Pixie Wonderbringer” comes from the virtual-tabletop tracker / chat log, not from anything spoken in-fiction. Hugo read it off the screen mid-fight — “it says Pixie Wonderbringer, check for concentration” [10] — and the players otherwise referred to the encounter simply as “wisps and a pixie” [11]. Treat “Pixie” as the creature type (canon) and “Wonderbringer” as a likely-stable but DM-unconfirmed tracker name pending confirmation.

Statblock — published Pixie (MM / 5e SRD)

The creature is a Pixie and its on-screen behaviour maps cleanly to the published statblock (5e SRD):

  • Magic Resistance — the headline trait. Caelumn’s nat-20 Chromatic Orb crit was absorbed by “a shield that draws in the power” and was “not as effective as you thought” [2]; every subsequent orb was likewise “resisted”/blunted [12]. The “shield that draws in power” reads as flavour for Magic Resistance / elemental absorption rather than a literal Shield spell.
  • Innate spellcasting — Polymorph. It turned Terry into a chicken on a failed Wisdom save [13], L1330). Terry stayed a chicken until Hugo knocked him out of it (8 damage, [14].
  • Innate spellcasting — Confusion. A Confusion-type laughter effect on Father Thomas; his Wisdom save was pushed to a pass by a cast of Bless [15].
  • Superior Invisibility and a shortsword melee (the “+7 to hit” framing at [16]; spell save DC 12.

The one deviation from a stock pixie is durability: it soaked a (resisted) crit plus multiple hits before dying, suggesting slightly buffed HP rather than the published ~1 HP. Treat as published Pixie, possibly buffed HP.

Death

Caelumn killed it on a later round with a Chromatic Orb (acid), narrated with the line “Melt the bitch” [17]; the DM described it dissolving “into a fine puddle” [18]. Its death had an immediate, non-standard consequence: the will-o’-wisp next to Caelumn “split into two” [7] — a DM homebrew beat (the DM waved off the question of why, [19]. See Will-o’-wisp for that mechanic. No loot dropped.

Status

Dead — destroyed by Caelumn in the s19 ambush [18].
