Pim is the small, quiet, watchful young daughter of Nella, encountered by the party on a wrecked fishing boat on the open Sapphire Sea in session 17. Roughly five years old per Caelumn’s table-side estimate [4]. She gave Mike a parting gift — a small smooth grey pebble with two cold dots and a scratched mouth on it — and named him Captain Stone [2]. Mike’s Detect Magic ritual confirmed the pebble was not magical [3]; he kept it anyway. Status: alive, off-screen, sailing north with her mother toward Gloamhearth.
Overview
Pim is the elder of Nella’s two children — described by the DM at her introduction as “a small girl that seems very quiet and watchful” [1]. She does not speak many lines on-screen; her defining moment is producing from her pocket and presenting to Mike a small painted pebble she calls Captain Stone in exchange for the two trail rations Mike had just given her family [2]:
“See, here’s this Captain Stone. He’s brave.” — Pim (via Nella), [2]
The pebble is described in the same line as “a small, smooth grey pebble” with “two cold dots and what looks to be a scratched mouth on it” — a child’s painted pet rock, given as a thank-you. Mike ritually cast Detect Magic on it for ten in-fiction minutes; the DM confirmed it was not magical [3]. Mike kept the pebble; he waved it at Nella as a goodbye gesture as the skiffs parted [5]. The item article is at Captain Stone.
Encounter — session 17
Pim was on her mother’s wrecked fishing boat alongside her younger sibling Leo when the party’s skiff approached at dusk on Day 1 of the southbound voyage. She did not speak directly with the party; Nella narrated her presence and brokered the exchange. She is the gift-giving register of the scene — the soft inverse of the road-office grief her mother is carrying. The party did not bring her aboard the skiff.
Status as of session 17
Alive, off-screen, sailing north with Nella and Leo toward Gloamhearth.
