Pim is the small, quiet, watchful daughter of Nessa, met by the party on a drifting fishing boat on the open Sapphire Sea in session 17. She gave Mike a small grey pebble with a face scratched on it, which she introduced as Captain Stone [2]. She was last seen sailing on with her mother and her brother Leo towards Gloamhearth.

Overview

Pim is Nessa’s daughter, introduced by the DM as “a small girl that seems very quiet and watchful” [1]. She says almost nothing to the party. Her one moment is to stand up, take a small grey pebble out of her pocket and give it to Mike as a thank-you for the two rations her family had just been given [7]. The pebble is Captain Stone; Mike ritually cast Detect Magic on it for ten minutes and the DM ruled it not magical [3]. She is the quiet counterpart in a scene whose other threads are her mother’s fear of arcane magic and her father’s arrest [8][9].

Pim was on her mother’s boat with Leo when the skiff came upon them at dusk. Nessa named her, and she said nothing until Mike had given the family two rations [11]. Then she took the pebble from her pocket and handed it to him: “See, here’s this Captain Stone. He’s brave.” Mike spent ten minutes of ritual casting on it before the DM ruled it not magical [12]. He held it up as the family sailed away [10]. The party did not take the family aboard, and the boat went on towards Gloamhearth [13][14].

Session 18: The Wyrm Falls, the Catfish Escapes, and Mike Dies on the Road

Pim is off-screen in session 18. She comes up only in the recap of session 17 that opened the session, which recalled her handing Mike the pebble [6]. The DM confirmed that her mother’s name is Nessa [15]. She does not appear in play.
