Lysa is the daughter, about eight years old, of the orchard farmer Thomas Feld and his wife Mara, met by the party on the road to Eldwythe in session 12. Sitting on the orchard fence, she greeted Ruin with “Hey! You look like you came from that dark place!” as he jumped it to pick apples, and her mother called out her name [5]. The DM confirmed that she is not the girl from the session 11 cart family, who had introduced herself as Kit [15][12].
Disambiguation. This is the orchard child Lysa from session 12. Not to be confused with Lysa Marr, the tiefling Factor of House Marr in Velkris.
Overview
Lysa is the daughter of Thomas Feld and his wife Mara, who keep an apple orchard beside the road to Eldwythe, an hour or so short of the town [3]. She appears in a single scene in session 12, where she spots Ruin jumping the fence to pick apples and greets him with a remark about a dark place. She matters mainly for the mistaken-identity question the scene raised: the DM confirmed that she is a different girl from the one the party met on the road in session 11 [4].
Appearance and demeanour
“A girl about eight”, sitting on the fence “swinging her legs, watching the road like she’s been waiting for something interesting all day” [5]. She is bold and observant, and says what she sees.
Relationships
- Thomas Feld and Mara: her parents. Her father was picking apples from a small ladder and her mother sorting them into a crate; her mother called her name, and her father lifted her onto his shoulders when the family went back to work [5][6][7][8].
- Ruin: the party member she greeted. He took three apples, and Caelumn paid five copper for them [9][10][11].
- Kit: the girl of the session 11 cart family, who is not the same child. The two families were met on the same road in consecutive sessions, and the cart family’s parents are never named [12][4].
Disposition towards the party
Curious and unafraid: she was the first to speak to Ruin, and her family took the party’s trespass in good part, saying “Everyone’s welcome at our orchard” [5][13].
Notable quotes
“Hey! You look like you came from that dark place!” — Lysa (Nick, DM), [5]
History in the campaign
Session 12: Eldwythe and the Candy Cottage
Main article: Session 12
On the road to Eldwythe the party passed an orchard of young apple trees behind a low fence. A man on a ladder picked apples, a woman sorted them into a crate, and a girl of about eight sat on the fence; when Ruin jumped over to pick apples she called out that he looked as if he had come from a dark place, and her mother called her name, Lysa [14]. Ruin asked whether she was the girl from the cart family, and the DM said no, a different girl [4]. Her father later named himself Thomas Feld and, with the apples paid for, carried her off on his shoulders [7][8].
Status
As of session 23. Alive, presumably still at her family’s orchard on the Eldwythe road. She has not been seen since session 12.
