Gwen Homora is the elven alchemist and council member of Wyrmbough Grove who sent the party to gather six bark samples from the Corrupted Redwood Grove [5][23]. She brewed five potions of poison resistance from them [2]. In session 3 she named the grove’s untouched mound as the burial mound of 34 elves and their leader Edvan, who fell fighting Death-at-Sunset [16], and she laid six sprigs of mosswort in the fire at Cholmondeley’s funeral [9].

Overview

Gwen Homora is the elven alchemist of Wyrmbough Grove and one of the village’s council, who gave the party the first errand of the recorded campaign: fill six vials with sap from the corrupted redwoods [5], from which she brewed protection against the corruption [6][7]. She appears to have briefed the party at the end of the unrecorded session 1, alongside the elf Amara, though the player recapping it was unsure of the names [8]. She is the party’s first source of local lore, and she presided over the fire of remembrance for Cholmondeley [9].

Appearance and demeanour

No physical description is given. She is courteous and brisk with the party, “very good, very good” [10], and worried for her village, which she says “isn’t what it used to be” as elves leave and the council’s hunters go missing [11][12]. At the funeral her hands trembled as she asked, “is it done?” [13].

History in the campaign

Session 2: The Bark, the Dryad, and the Riddle that Wasn’t a Tree

The party held six vials to fill with sap from the grove’s elder trees for Gwen [5]. A half-hour walk back from the grove, they brought them to her, and she took them, remarking “I should be able to work with this” [20]. She told them Nancy had been looking for them, promised protection by supper at Fergus’s Grill, pointed them to a cottage and a travelling merchant [21][17], and at supper handed over five vials of poison-resistance potion, one each; asked how long they would last, she answered, “oh I have no idea.” [2].

Session 3: The Lair of Sunset is Nigh and the Death of Cholmondeley

Outside the council building, arguing with an elf who felt unsafe, she told the party to return to the grove, now they had her potions [11][12]. Asked about the mound that stayed green, she named it the burial mound of 34 elves and their leader Edvan [16], and, asked privately by Harvo, admitted she did not know the corruption’s cause and had made the potions by back-engineering their samples [22]. When the party came back from the dragon’s cave without Cholmondeley, she asked if it was done, and that night laid six sprigs of mosswort in the fire [4].

Status

As of session 23. Alive, presumably in Wyrmbough Grove, and unseen since the funeral in session 3 [9]. The party has not returned to the village.
