Bella is another Project Veilbreak survivor, named by Hugo during his s4 pact negotiation with The Black Mask [1]. Hugo described her as someone who “also went through the showers with me” and asked, as part of the deal’s terms, whether she could be “converted into knowing the truth and breaking away as well.” The Black Mask did not commit. She has not appeared on-screen; her location, condition, and disposition toward Hugo or the Ascendancy are unknown.
Overview
Bella is, per Hugo’s account, one of the seven survivors of Project Veilbreak — the experimental programme that turned 140,000 candidates into seven post-cellular-rewrite test subjects [2] recording). Hugo named her unprompted during his s4 pact negotiation with The Black Mask, framing her as “the other one with me … who also went through the showers with me” [1]. He asked whether she could be “converted into knowing the truth and breaking away as well.” The Black Mask deflected, asking only “why?” before steering the negotiation toward Hugo’s larger ask — destruction of the group and assassination of the project’s lead doctor.
She has not appeared on-screen. Whether she is captive within The Ascendancy, at large, or deceased is unknown.
On the s9 succubus
The s9 succubus seemed to recognize or sense something about Hugo, but the exact reason is not public knowledge. Whether this has any connection to Bella is not confirmed in play.
