Armin Whisperwind is the half-elf hunter from Wyrmbough Grove who had been missing — captured and tortured for “months” inside Sunset is Nigh’s Lair — when the party found him in session 3 outside the cave mouth, intentionally missing them with an arrow as a warning. After Caelumn’s 23 Persuasion convinced him to stand aside [1], he revealed that four other elves had also been taken and were probably dead. The party escorted him home to Wyrmbough after killing Sunset is Nigh and the Yuan-ti woman inside.
Overview
Armin Whisperwind, called “Whisperwind” in shorter form, is the half-elf hunter referenced in the s1 briefing as the most prominent of the missing elves of Wyrmbough Grove. The party found him in session 3 at the mouth of Sunset is Nigh’s Lair across the poisoned stream, where he fired an intentionally-missed arrow at Caelumn to warn them off. He had been tortured for months in the cave by Sunset is Nigh’s cult of corrupted elves and now believed attacking the lair would only make things worse.
Caelumn’s 23 Persuasion convinced him to stand aside and to wait for an escort home. He confirmed four other elves had been taken and were probably dead [1]. After the party cleared the cave, he was escorted back to Wyrmbough Grove.
Appearance and demeanour
Half-elf hunter, marked by months of captivity. Calm under pressure (the warning shot was intentional). Pragmatic about the cost of resistance.
