Inventory for Vasquez (Polar’s character throughout), a half-demon-elf fighter with the Mage Slayer feat, level 4 at end of session 16. Vasquez’s identity-defining gear is the Aurelian Plate Armour with Nullstone Runes and his custom gunblade.
Equipment
- Vasquez’s gunblade (s3, forged at Shamil’s forge by combining the looted pistol from Death-at-Sunset’s hoard and Vasquez’s longsword) — custom revolver-style hammer + longsword. Bonus action to slam a primer charge; on impact deals weapon damage + 2d6 (fire or lightning per primer) per [1]. Treated as a longsword for class features.
- Aurelian Plate Armour with Nullstone Runes (s10, looted from the Aurelian Paladin; identified by Ruin via Identify, L1605-1644; attuned and worn) — heavy plate. Advantage on saves vs arcane spells. Blocks the wearer’s own arcane casting AND blocks barbarian rage (Hugo’s confirmation, L1659). Crest re-engraved by Vasquez over the long rest (L1722-1846) from Aurelian sunburst to his adopted-dwarf-family sigil. Smithing tools used; flat d20 risk to ruin the runes if changing more than the crest.
- Aurelian Paladin’s enchanted greatsword (s10) — slashing + radiant rider; the radiant bypassed Mharos’s necrotic resistance [2]. Confirmed enchanted by the Broker. Vasquez kept it for crafting / “better gunblade” potential. Likely stored.
- Aurelian Paladin’s heavy crossbow (s10) — mundane.
- Hat of Disguise (s16, Phil’s hidden stash; identified by Althea via ritual Identify [3]; attuned over the boat trip [4]) — Disguise Self while worn while attuned. Tested s16 — Vasquez disguised as a dwarf successfully.
- Survival kit / fire-pit gear (Vasquez is Survival proficient; dug fire pit s8 with Harvo’s tinkered metal-plate spade).
- Alchemist’s supplies (extracted phase-spider venom s6).
- Mask cloth — Vasquez’s signature face-covering was tightened post-s8 (“so it can never happen again” — referencing the s7 jail incident where his identity was exposed).
Magical/personal items
- Charm of Harvo’s metal (s9, cut from one of Harvo’s weapons at his pyre) — mundane keepsake worn as a charm.
- Cellmate-given prison name “Bruise” (s8, Jack misheard “Cruz”) — flavour identity.
Body / parasite
- Mharos — half-demon-elf parasite bonded to Vasquez since s9. Visible features: horns, runes on skin, ember eyes; previous facial scars healed and the metal bars holding his mouth closed fell out. Visibly half-demon-elf rather than elf. Necrotic-resistant (per [5]; weak to radiant [2].
- Mharos has refused all bargains [6]; attempted to force Vasquez to frame Althea for arcane use [7] (refused); manifested in smoke [8] and targeted Caelumn directly with a Wisdom save attack — defeated only by Vasquez’s Mage Slayer once-per-day fail-to-succeed [9].
- s16: Vasquez began slamming his head into a wall during rests to feed Mharos misery, keeping the parasite occupied with the host’s pain rather than letting it manipulate the party [10].
Mage Slayer feat
- Once per day, can choose to succeed on a failed Wisdom or Charisma save. Used [9] vs Mharos.
