The All Hammer
The All Hammer is the hammer-and-forge deity worshipped by Althea Stormsoro, the kobold cleric and paladin who joined the party in session 15. The only prayers on record are hers: her Bless calls on the “father of the forge” and ends “by fire by hammer by the ring of creation to grant them strength” [2]. The DM has confirmed the name (corrections register, post-s17), and nothing on record ties the deity to Aurelia’s Pure Light or to Vhal’Zarim’s Bahamut faith. With Althea offscreen since the session 17 retcon, there is no worshipper in play.
Overview
The All Hammer is the hammer-of-forge, iron-coded deity worshipped by Althea Stormsoro, a three-foot white-scaled kobold cleric and paladin who joined the party in session 15 [1]. Worship is built from forge imagery: hammer, fire, ring of creation, anvil and strike. Her Bless is the fullest prayer on record: “all hammer father of the forge hear me bless those whose hammer shape the foundations of the world temper their spirits” [7], ending “by fire by hammer by the ring of creation to grant them strength”, as shards of metal form “this little hammer and anvil crest” on the recipients’ armour and weapons [8].
Known traits
- Forge imagery throughout. The Bless prayer speaks of hammer, fire and the ring of creation, and its sign is a hammer-and-anvil crest [2]. A second prayer, for her Divine Spark, speaks of armour mended and wielders at peace at the end of the day [4].
- The gorget. Althea closes her eyes and holds a hand to her silver and golden gorget, set with a bright burning gem, as she prays [1][7]. The Aurelian patrol wanted to inspect it and she refused [9]. In session 16 the gem shone brighter and gave Vasquez a surge of holy power that mended his armour [10].
- Channel Divinity. Divine Spark healed Caelumn in session 15 [11], and Turn Undead was used twice in the session 16 sarcophagus fight [5][6].
- An unexplained failure. In the session 15 sewer fight her Toll the Dead fizzled, and the DM said her connection to her god down there might not be as strong, or something else might be affecting her [3]. No cause was given.
Relationships
- Pure Light and Bahamut’s faith: nothing on record ties the All Hammer to either. The DM keeps Aurelia’s Pure Light and Vhal’Zarim’s Bahamut faith separate from each other (ruling 10), and the All Hammer is a third strand.
- Khaldun Forgehold: Althea, like Vasquez, is from Khaldun [12]. No one has tied the All Hammer to Khaldun; the link is the wiki’s guess from the forge imagery.
Notable named figures
- Althea Stormsoro: the only known worshipper, played by Maliwana in sessions 15 and 16.
History in the campaign
Session 15: The Death of Ruin and Althea Joins
Main article: Session 15
Althea ran into the party’s clearing with an Aurelian patrol on her trail, a silver and golden gorget at her neck that the patrol had wanted to inspect [1][9]. When the DM asked how her Bless looks, her player gave the prayer: eyes closed, a hand on the gorget, a chant to the “father of the forge”, and metal shards rising from the ground to form a hammer-and-anvil crest on her allies’ gear [13]. In the sewers fight with the Kuo-toa her Toll the Dead fizzled, and the DM wondered aloud whether her bond with her god was weaker down there [3]. A second, longer prayer healed Caelumn with Divine Spark [11].
Session 16: Through the Sewers, Onto the Skiff
Main article: Session 16
As Vasquez handed her the schematics of his gunblade, her gem shone brighter and he felt a surge of holy power that mended his armour [14]. In the sarcophagus chamber ambush she spent her Channel Divinity on Turn Undead, which frightened two of the undead before a flameskull’s Magic Missile knocked her out [15][16]. Brought round by Vasquez’s potion [17] and out of spell slots, she tried one more Turn Undead as a last throw and caught two more of them [6].
Status
As of session 23. No worshipper in play. Althea left offscreen at the session 17 retcon [18][19], and no other cleric of the All Hammer has appeared.
