Mordane
Mordane is the Discord handle of a former player at the table whose characters were Harvo (the half-elf artificer, s2-s9, decapitated by a dominated Hugo) and Ruin (the tiefling warlock, s10-s15, killed by an Aurelian chain-snare). The player departed the table around s15. Ruin’s death in that session was a scripted DM execution that doubled as the character’s narrative send-off as the player was being removed.
Characters played
- Harvo (Harvalent Irsaron, s2-s9, deceased) — half-elf Artificer; magical pistol +1, alchemist’s supplies, healer’s kit, Eldritch Cannon (Force Ballista mode). Origin in Arcanthys. Decapitated by Hugo in [1] after Hugo was dominated by the Succubus; the hand-axe crit for 29 exceeded Harvo’s max HP. Cannot be revivified — head severed. Last words: “Well, fuck.”
- Ruin (s10-s15, deceased) — tiefling, warlock-style spellcaster (Eldritch Blast, Hex, Sorcerer Burst, fire-resistant). Joined via a letter from Sevryn in [2]. Killed in [3] when an Aurelian chain-snare wrapped around his neck and snapped it.
At the table
Harvo’s voiceprint was cautious and technical, with a slight Eastern-European tinker accent and frequent use of “well” as a hedge. Recurring tells: “Greetings.”, “I will… pull out the contraption.”, “Force Ballista at the things first.”, “I have a method, I’m sticking to it.”, and “Bonus action, fire it.” with the Eldritch Cannon. Ruin’s voiceprint was lower-affect and edgier — bored, charismatic-but-ruthless, pyromancer-warlock cadence: “Boredom.” [4] was the reason given for following Sevryn’s letter; “How do you feel about this fucker burning to a crisp?” [5] is the register at full force.
Departure
The player was removed from the table around session 15 for behaviour the rest of the table had stopped wanting to share a session with. Ruin’s death scene the same session — an Aurelian chain-snare execution — was scripted by Nick to give the character a clean narrative exit as the player departed. The replacement seat was filled by Maliwana with Althea.
