Chris is the player at this table whose characters have been Cholmondeley (s2-s3, deceased), briefly Earthwing (s3 cameo, never played in earnest), and Terry (s4-current). His on-table tenure spans the full recorded run of the campaign. He is also the maintainer of this wiki, which gives the project its outside-the-fiction shape but no in-fiction weight: in Eldurae, the work is the characters.

Characters played

  • Cholmondeley Featherstonhaugh (s2-s3, deceased) - human variant Paladin, Pure Light / Aurelian-aligned, with a Magic-Initiate-driven Shillelagh-and-Booming-Blade build; killed by the yuan-ti woman’s bite during the Sunset is Nigh lair fight in s3 [1]. Last words: “I hate you all.”
  • Earthwing the Owlin (s3 cameo) — introduced at [2] as Cholmondeley’s intended replacement, never actually played in earnest at the table. The name was later reused in-fiction for Terry’s owl familiar.
  • Terry (s4-current) — tortle, originally Bard 3 with bagpipes, later respec’d off-screen between s5 and s6 to Fighter 1 / Wizard 2 (Bladesinger declared as the long-term path at [3]; subclass selected at level 4 in s14; first Bladesong activation in [4].

At the table

Chris’s voiceprint is the dry, list-reciting, philosophical wizard register he settled into once Terry stopped being a bard. The shift from Cholmondeley’s gruff old-soldier American cadence to Terry’s smart-arse-wizard pithiness is the single biggest tonal change a player has made on the show. Recurring tells include rambling time-fillers (Yakko’s chemistry song [5]; the countries song [6], Lord-of-the-Rings drops, and a tendency to narrate his own party’s corruption in tidy summaries (“two of the people I’m traveling with are corrupted by demons. One’s corrupted by a dragon and one’s corrupted by the void.”, [7].

Mechanically he optimises — the Shillelagh / Booming Blade / Divine Smite combo Cholmondeley never lived to use, the Bladesinger build path declared eight sessions before subclass selection — but rarely lets the optimisation override the bit. The permanent -1 Charisma penalty Terry carries from a failed funeral performance for Harvo [8] has stayed in effect across every level-up since.
