Attribution and tooling for Nickipedia. The campaign world of Eldurae is the creation of Nick. The site’s visual chrome is modelled on MediaWiki’s Vector skin (GPL-2.0) with a reading register adapted from D&D Beyond. The Dungeons & Dragons 2024 ruleset is published by Wizards of the Coast.
Visual design
The chrome of Nickipedia is modelled on the Vector skin (specifically the Vector 2010 / “Legacy Vector” variant) shipped with MediaWiki by the Wikimedia Foundation.

Nickipedia’s chrome (header bar, sidebar, content column, infobox-on-the-right, References-at-the-bottom) is a from-scratch CSS reproduction of the Vector 2010 visual language for static-site use. No MediaWiki source code is copied verbatim. The design language itself is open and credited here in homage.
The reading register — typography, palette, callout styling, table conventions — is adapted from D&D Beyond, the official D&D digital toolset. Specifically: clean modern sans-serif body type, vivid brand red (#c53131) for in-fiction cross-references and section-heading underlines, near-white parchment background with subtle vertical paper grain, dark navy chrome bars, pink-tinted boxed callouts with corner brackets, and stat-block-flavoured infobox styling.
Trademarks
“Wikipedia” and the puzzle-globe logo are registered trademarks of the Wikimedia Foundation. Nickipedia does not use the Wikipedia name and does not use the puzzle-globe logo. The fan-wiki notice in the footer is included on every page.
“D&D Beyond” is a trademark of Wizards of the Coast. Nickipedia is not affiliated with D&D Beyond, and does not reproduce D&D Beyond’s content; the visual register is borrowed for stylistic homage only.
“Dungeons & Dragons” and the D&D logo are trademarks of Wizards of the Coast LLC. The campaign uses the 2024 Player’s Handbook published by Wizards of the Coast. Nickipedia is unaffiliated with Wizards of the Coast.
Campaign
The campaign world of Eldurae and all in-fiction setting material are the creation of Nick, the campaign’s DM. Player characters and player handles appear with their owners’ consent.
Build tooling
- Hugo — static site generator (Apache 2.0).
- mistune — Python markdown parser (BSD-3).
- PyYAML — YAML parser (MIT).
- Firebase Hosting — deploy target.
Site sigil
The Nickipedia crest in the header — a stylised d20 in the visual register of Wikipedia’s puzzle-globe — is original work created for this wiki by Chris (with help from Gemini). It references the campaign’s central conceit: the world is held together by a die roll.
