Caelumn: Inventory
Inventory for Caelumn (Toby’s character throughout), a sorcerer of draconic ancestry from the Platinum Order in Vhal’Zarim. He carried The Egg in Sevryn’s Egg-Carrier until an Aurelian chain pulled his backpack away in session 15 [19][5]. He wears the Soulbinder’s Packed Ring and the Bloodwell Vial [3][77]. The Dragonslayer Longsword he attuned in session 3 has been Hugo’s in play since session 6, with no hand-over shown [1][2]. Since session 21 he has carried The eye-and-mouth token, The skeleton’s whip and a spear; in session 22 he lost The Book of Secrets to Terry and pocketed about 150 gold, and in session 23 the DM gave him a Cap of Water Breathing for the recap [7][8][102][9][10]. In session 24 he asked the DM to retcon the ring, picked up The root room’s curved knife and was dragged into the roots by a vine, took two moonstones to the Dracolich statue, and walked out of the knight chamber with The pink unicorn plush and a couple of gold coins [11][106][109][58][121].
Equipment (mundane)
- Sevryn’s Egg-Carrier with The Egg: he put the Egg into the humming carrier Harvo gave the party and carried it from then on [18][19][20][21]. In session 14 it went past Briochebane with Terry and did not react [22][23]. Fate: stolen with his backpack [5]; in Aurelian hands.
- Backpack (lost s15): a chain pulled it into the smoke with the Egg “along with Lots of other stuff” [5][24], a healing potion among it [25][26]. By Terry’s joke his comfort dragon plushie went too: “Well, it disappeared with my backpack.” [27]. Fate: in Aurelian hands.
- Mouldy backpack: claimed empty from the sewers, “my old moldy little thing”, with “a familiar smell of fungus” [28][6]; at the s20 checkpoint it was all he had to search [29]. Fate: carried.
- Crowbar: “I do have a crowbar.” [30]; it opened a sarcophagus in the Warrens [31]. Fate: not mentioned since.
- Dragon tooth: pulled from Sunset is Nigh’s skull, “I’d like a tooth.” [32][33]. Fate: not mentioned since.
- Half a sabretooth pelt: skinned on a 13 and handed to a companion [34][35][36]. Fate: given away.
- Hooded lantern: Phil’s, from the wet crate in the sewers [37][38]. Fate: not mentioned since.
- Crooked Broom (s13): “It seems like a very ordinary broom.”; “I’ve got teeth and I’ve got a broom.” [39][40]. Fate: Terry took it for his disguise and kept it, despite “give me back my broom” [41][42][43].
- Candied Apple with Dentures (s13): added to his inventory with a note, “definitely cursed. Do not remove dentures” [44][45]; kept in his backpack [46]. Fate: per the DM, returned to Uncle Nibblecheek before the s15 snare (ruling 51), though still on his sheet in s21: “i think you did as well but you forgot to remove it properly” [47][48].
- Orrin Sol’s missing-inventory list (s21): found in the Greysmere storehouse, where he left the coin box alone [49][50][51]. Fate: carried.
- Spear (s21): pulled from his backpack to poke the temple floor for traps [52]. Fate: carried.
- Stick of jerky (s22): pulled out when the statue’s voice demanded food [53][54]; he offered it the skinless corpse instead [55][56]. Fate: not stated.
- Two moonstones (s24): from the party inventory, offered to the Dracolich statue as something a dragon likes: “I will take two moonstones and I will put one in each eye” [57][58]. “nothing happens”, and Kole said he might take them back [58][59]. Fate: with the statue; recovery not shown.
Magic items
- Dragonslayer Longsword: from Death-at-Sunset’s hoard; Vasquez took the pistol, so “I will take the sword then” [60][61][62]. “a long sword of dragon slaying”, attuned overnight [63][1]. Fate: disputed. From session 6 it is Hugo’s in his words and the DM’s, “my dragon slayer sword” [2][64][65][66], but no hand-over is shown; a question for the DM.
- Soulbinder’s Packed Ring: Maelis Dirn’s ring, which Terry passed him as the one with spell-slot progression [67][68]; attuned on the rest, “I hope you realise I am putting everything in there.” [3]. A wight’s soul dissipated [69][70]; an owlbear’s was taken [71][72] and spent against Bubba Walker, who tore it apart [73][74]. In session 24 he read it as saying that a used soul is lost for good and asked the DM whether they could “retcon this ring so I can use it” [11]; later, offering something to the Dracolich statue, he said he would take it off his finger [75], then let Hugo offer an axe instead [76]. Fate: worn, empty [77]; whether it came off his finger at [75] is not clear.
- Bloodwell Vial: the DM’s out-of-game gift of a magic item, “No, you just have it” [78][79], chosen and added to his sheet mid-fight [80][4][81]; worn “on a necklace but underneath my shirt” [77][82], so not lost with the pack. It returns sorcery points when he rolls hit dice, rest or no rest [83][84][85][86][87][88], and it fuels his Chromatic Orb [89]. Fate: worn.
- Ivory totem (s3): “some sort of ivory”; “I will take the little knickknack.” [90][91]. Unidentified. Fate: carried.
- The eye-and-mouth token (s21): “a stone token showing an eye above a closed mouth” [92]. Unrecognised, it joined an inventory “just full of random shit”: “it’s going in my pocket anyway” [47][93][7]. Fate: carried, unidentified.
- The skeleton’s whip (s21): from an eye-patched skeleton [94]. “Why am I so drawn to this whip?” “It’s cursed.” [95][96]; into his backpack [8]. The DM has since said no curse is confirmed (post-s21 clarifications). Fate: carried.
- The Book of Secrets (s22, held briefly): he picked it up from the hole under the mummy-lord statue and read its title [97][98][99]. Terry took it, and “give me back the fucking book” lost the contested Athletics [100][101][102]. Fate: Father Thomas holds it [103].
- Cap of Water Breathing (s23): “Toby, for that brilliant recap, I’m going to give you a magic item.”; “Water breathing. Yes.”; “Like a hat. C-A-P, bitch.” [10][104][105]. Awarded out of character; not described or used. Fate: carried.
- The root room’s curved knife (s24): “I shall pick up the curse dagger” [106]; the DM called the blade “stained, dark, old” [107]. Cutting a root with it, he failed a Dexterity save, took five piercing damage at 5 hit points and was dragged into the roots at 0 until Hugo cut the vine [108][109][110][111]. “Curse” is his word. Fate: picked up; no line says who carries it now.
- The root room’s wooden staff (s24): Terry took it from the roots, and Caelumn asked for a look; “you take the stuff” [112][113][114]. Fate: the holder is not settled; see Terry.
- The third skeleton’s greatsword (s24): after the fight he asked “Can I pick up the giant cursed greatsword?” and whether he felt “any magicalness” in it, and the DM said “Yeah, kind of. But yes, you can.” [115][116]. “Cursed” is his word; no pickup is narrated. Fate: not stated.
- The pink unicorn plush (s24): the knight of smoke let him pass (“not at the current moment no”, [117]), and he took it from under the knight statue, opened its back as a free item interaction onto “a ginormous, endless void”, and left [118][119][120][121]. Fate: carried.
Consumables and components
- Healing potions (s2 to s7): the dryad’s, worn round his neck, “No, I’ve got the one wrapped around my neck currently.” [122][123]. Vasquez took one from his back pocket and poured it into him [124][125]; he took the storeroom’s three [126], and Terry fed him one from his “crotch pocket” in the Titan fight [127][128]. He gave Harvo one, “I have one left after this” [129][130]. Fate: “We seem to have emptied our stock in that last fight.” [131].
- Healing potions (s11 to s23): Ruin snatched one in the owlbear fight [132]; one went with the backpack [25]; he drank one in s16 and Hugo revived him with another [133][134]. In s23 “we’ve got a bunch of health potions we’ll be fine” [135]; none was drunk. Fate: none is recorded as his now.
- Black experimental potion (s11): Alston’s, to test [136], put in his backpack [137], yet in s19 “I have this random black potion in my pocket” [138]. In session 24, out of resources, he asked what it was, and the DM said “You never tested it.” and recalled the deal, a discount on healing potions “because you were going to test out this potion on yourselves or someone else” [139]. Asking for a History check to remember more, he was told “You don’t remember” [140][141]; he decided not to drink it [142]. Fate: undrunk, carried.
- Healing potion from the party stock (s24): “feed him one of the potions of healing”, reduced in the party inventory, and Father Thomas was up on 6 hit points [17]. Fate: used.
- A couple of gold coins (s24): under the unicorn plush, taken with it and not counted [143][121]. Fate: carried.
- Potion of poison resistance: Gwen Homora’s [144], drunk going into the lair [145][146] and worn off by the return [147][148].
- Red-liquid vial: one of the four small vials from the Warrens satchel [149][150]. Fate: not mentioned since.
- Spell scrolls: Web, from the hoard [151][152], and Wither and Bloom, second level [153][154][155]. Fate: not mentioned since.
- Goodberries: he asked Mike for one [156][157] and got two from Father Thomas in s22, for reviving the fallen [158]. None eaten.
- Cinnamon rolls: Phil Flowerforge’s sack, bait for Briochebane [159][160]. Fate: not traced here.
- Rations: he ate his own rather than cook for Ruin, “fuck you dude i ain’t cooking you shit” [161], and marked one off at the beach camp [162]. Fate: used as needed.
- Coin (s2 to s21): his share of the bandit haul, after paying five gold for the night’s lodging [163][164]; “I have 130 gold, 842 silver, and 1773 copper.” [165]; 130 gold to Harvo for Vasquez’s bail, “So, well, goodbye my gold.” [166][167]; 25 gold from the mining reward, and ten silver spent on oats [168][169]; five copper and a silver for Ruin’s apples [170][171]; three silver for drinks [172].
- About 150 gold coins (s22): on top of them lay the book; “I’ll pick up the cursed coins as well.” “There seems to be roughly 150 of them.” [173][174][9][175]. No curse is stated. Fate: by his player’s out-of-character word, “It is not in the party inventory. It is in my inventory.”, and “I will share it later” [176][177]; he had told the others of “a book and 150 gold” [178].
Permanent notes
- Loot goblin. “I’ll be the loot goblin. let’s absorb the treasure first.” [179]; by s21, “I’m not that much of a loot goblin.” [49].
- His free Cure Wounds often stood in for a potion: on Vasquez instead of his own potion [180], on Mike [181], on Rime [182].
